  • Creating Your Aligners – Next, Dr. Cain will use advanced digital scanning technology to create precise impressions of your smile or your child’s smile. These digital scans are then used to make your custom Spark Clear Aligners™, ensuring a comfortable fit and highly accurate tooth movement throughout treatment.
  • Fitting – Once your aligners arrive at our office, Dr. Cain will ensure they fit comfortably and are working exactly as planned. Before you leave, she’ll review how to wear and care for your aligners, answer any questions and make sure you feel confident about beginning treatment.

Every smile is different, so Dr. Cain will recommend the schedule that’s best for you. Most patients transition to a new set of aligners every one to two weeks, depending on how their teeth are moving and their individual treatment plan.

Accidents happen, and we’re here to help! We recommend always storing your aligners in their protective case whenever they’re not in your mouth, never wrapped in a napkin or left unattended.

If you lose or break an aligner, you may be able to move on to your next set if it fits comfortably. If the next aligner feels too tight or you need to return to your previous aligner, simply give our office a call. Dr. Cain will help determine the best next step to keep your treatment progressing smoothly.

Every smile is unique, so treatment times vary from patient to patient. On average, most patients complete treatment in about 12-30 months. During your complimentary consultation, Dr. Cain will provide a personalized estimate based on your smile and treatment goals. Wearing your aligners consistently as instructed is one of the biggest factors in keeping your treatment on schedule.

Keeping your aligners clean is simple. Wash them daily using a gentle soap and a soft-bristled toothbrush or a cleaning solution recommended by Dr. Cain. Avoid using toothpaste, which can scratch the plastic, or mouthwash, which may damage or discolor your aligners. With proper care, your aligners will stay clear, comfortable and ready to keep your smile moving in the right direction.
